Domaine des Bénédictins - Cuvée la Griffe Chenin - Saumur dry white new barrels

The vintage La cuvée AOP Saumur Blanc "La Griffe" is a dry white wine made from 100% Chenin, with grapes harvested at their peak of ripeness to bring softness and notes of candied fruit. This wine has been aged for one year in new oak barrels. In its youth, it evokes the freshness of exotic fruits and citrus fruits, and with time, it develops an elegant freshness on the palate.

The Domaine des Bénédictinswinery is located in the heart of Anjou Saumur. The vineyard covers an area of 46 hectares, mainly dedicated to Cabernet Franc and Chenin. The two most used grape varieties are the nobles of the Loire region: Cabernet Franc, for the Saumur (known for its ideal development on clay-limestone soils with a northern climate) and its fine and elegant wines, and Chenin Blanc for the Coteaux du Layon on schist soils and the Saumur Blanc and Fines Bulles on the limestone "Tuffeau". Thanks to this stone from the Upper Cretaceous, the Châteaux of the Loire were built. It also has the particularity of being heated.
